All pet dogs, cats, and ferrets (including guide and hearing dogs) can enter or return to the UK from any country worldwide without needing quarantine, as long as they adhere to the PET Travel Scheme rules. These regulations may differ depending on the country or territory your pet is coming from.
It’s important to ensure that your dog, cat, or ferret meets these requirements before traveling.
As a leading expert in pet travel, we have outlined the DEFRA procedures you need to follow to ensure your pet complies with the PET Travel Scheme.

To ensure your pet is comfortable during the journey from Amsterdam to the UK, it’s important to prepare them properly. Start by familiarizing your pet with travel through shorter car rides, which can help them get used to being in a vehicle. Bringing along their favorite blanket, toy, or bedding can also make the trip feel more like home, providing comfort and familiarity. Throughout the trip, staying calm and reassuring can help keep your pet at ease, as they often pick up on your emotions. By focusing on these aspects, you can help make the journey as stress-free as possible for your pet.
The documents required for pet travel between Amsterdam and the UK can vary depending on your pet and specific travel circumstances. Typically, a valid pet passport or health certificate, proof of rabies vaccination, and, for dogs, tapeworm treatment documentation are needed. However, it’s important to ensure you have the correct paperwork tailored to your pet’s needs. We recommend getting in touch with us at Elite Pet Taxi to discuss your pet’s requirements and ensure you have all the necessary documents for a smooth journey.

Julius é um ótimo motorista, muito paciente e educado, minha viagem foi muito tranquila, indico muito a empresa Elite Pet Taxi, recebi todo suporte e não precisei me preocupar com nada, obrigada.
It was the best experience my family and I have ever had traveling with our cat. The driver was super attentive, always available, and cautious on the road... I highly recommend it to anyone who is still undecided; you can go without fear.
Marcel was extremely professional, communicative and helpful. He and his team made our trip from Paris to London a breeze. Thanks!
Absolutely fantastic! I had a wonderful experience travelling from Paris to London with my French Bulldog, and I honestly couldn’t recommend this company enough! From the very beginning, Lucia was incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive. She made the entire booking process so easy, answered all my questions and ensured everything was perfectly organised. A special thank you to Marcel, who was absolutely wonderful! He was extremely professional, kind, punctual and made the whole journey comfortable and stress-free. My dog was completely relaxed throughout the trip, which was particularly important to me. He handled the journey beautifully, without any signs of stress or discomfort. Everything went smoothly and I felt very well looked after throughout the entire experience. A huge thank you to both Marcel and Lucia for making our journey such a pleasant one! It’s clear that they genuinely care about their clients and their pets. I would absolutely use their services again and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone travelling with their furry family members! 🫶🐾
Great service, could not ask for more. Marek was so helpful throughout the journey to Paris. Looking forward to the return journey in 2 weeks time.
From Lucia organizing our trips (August and October) and our drivers Marcel and Marek picking us up and driving us, both services were excellent and removed the stress of bringing our dogs from Paris to UK.
I can’t thank Elite Pet taxi enough for their service. They made one of the most stressful days in my life an absolute breeze. Our driver Julius was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and talkative. He answered all our questions, found us when we were lost in the airport, made sure my mum, myself and the cats were as comfortable as possible, and even got us to our destination in record time. Both of my cats thank him! I would 100% recommend Elite Pet taxi to friends, family and anyone looking to relocate their pets.
I relocated from the US to the UK with my cat, Iris and worked with Lucia and Hashmat who were both spectacular! Lucia was so knowledgeable and helpful when it came to coordinating logistics. She promptly answered any questions or concerns I had and really helped put me at ease while prepping for such a long trip! Hashmat was equally as friendly, communicative, timed our flight landing/pickup perfectly, and made plenty of stops for us to take a small break. I cannot recommend this company enough! They made the very stressful process of moving abroad feel so effortless. Thank you Lucia and Hashmat!
Can't praise Elite Pet Taxi Ltd enough. So easy to book. Communication outstanding. Marcel was so kind and caring for our journey from Paris to England. Nothing was too much for him. Such a pleasurable experience. Great with our dog, especially as he had been in a box on a plane for so long. Definitely recommend anyone to use this company.
My husband and I moved to the UK for work and we’re so nervous to bring our cat. They were with us every start of the way, making sure we asked the right question for both the US vet and EU vet. They were very thorough with our paperwork so we could get across the boarder seamlessly. Luxor was very comfortable during the ride and had access to litter and could move around the car. They also provided us some snacks, water, and helped with luggage. The whole experience of bringing an animal to another country seemed impossible, but both Marcel and Lucia really were such an asset to have. Couldn’t recommend them enough.
Just like their name suggests, Elite Pet Taxi's service was top-notch from start to finish. Lucia took care of all the arrangements and was incredibly prompt and efficient. She communicated clearly, handled everything professionally, and made the arrangement process seamless. We met Marcel at CDG airport, and he was incredibly kind, caring, and professional. His car was spotless and comfortable, and he made sure our pup got her potty breaks and accommodated the stops we needed along the way. From the moment he picked us up until we arrived, everything was handled with exceptional care and professionalism. At the border, Marcel guided us through every step, and everything went so smoothly that we didn't have to worry about a single thing. Our dog is usually quite anxious in the car, but she stayed relaxed and rested peacefully for the entire ride. We'd flown into Paris in first class, but the car ride was even more comfortable — we actually slept better in the car than we did on the plane! The whole experience exceeded our expectations and felt effortless and comfortable throughout! My husband and I cannot compliment Elite Pet Taxi enough, we highly recommend! Thank you, Marcel and Lucia, for such a wonderful experience!
We, Mocha and Mochi, have safely arrived in Manchester and wanted to share how wonderful our experience was with Elite Pet Taxi. Lucia and Rene provided an exceptionally professional service from start to finish. From the initial quote to handling the relocation paperwork, Lucia was incredibly patient in answering all of my questions. She constantly checked on the well-being and emotional state of my two cats. From before our flight took off, right after landing, and even while we were on the road, Lucia kept in close touch to ensure that both we and our cats were safe and comfortable throughout the journey from Paris CDG Airport to Manchester. Our driver, Rene, was also highly professional. His thorough knowledge of the Pet Reception Centre procedures gave us complete peace of mind, making the 9-hour drive incredibly comfortable and stress-free. Thank you so much, Elite Pet Taxi, for making the first step of our relocation so smooth. I highly recommend them to anyone moving with their pets!"
